ACTIVITY PAGES and EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS The Georgia Cotton Commission’s Promotion and Education programs go hand-in-hand when working with the adult and youth general public. In order to promote our commodity, we have to educate people about it. For example, the Commission staff hosts an educational exhibit at fairs, trade shows, agriculture related events and any exhibit opportunity where we can share information with the public. A representative from the Commission will also make guest speaker appearances and give an educational presentation, using PowerPoint, to civic clubs, school groups and others wanting an informative cotton program.

To further enhance the youth education program, the Commission developed seven activity pages and a teacher's resource page. They are designed for children from kindergarten to, possibly, the seventh grade. Recommended ages or grades are not shown on the pages, as individual educators can best determine which optimally suit their students' learning abilities. The Activity Pages are based upon the Commission's brochure entitled, COTTON_King_of_Crops_in_Georgia (text only).
Through support from our state's cotton farmers, the Georgia Cotton Commission has developed an educational kit "COTTON: The Story," and it's available to educators in our state. To learn more about it:
